The Need

A  significantly  higher  rate  of  anxiety & depression  alongside  chronic  pain exists  in  Tower  Hamlets,  particularly  affecting  the BAME community.

People  with  chronic  pain  are  more likely  to  experience
disability  and social  isolation.

        Mindfulness,  complementary  therapies,  and  health-coaching
have  all  been  shown  to  reduce  depression  and  anxiety
in  people  with  long-term  pain.

Peer-support  groups  reduce  social  isolation  and  help  people  to  reintegrate  with  the  community.

Recently  the  BBC  reported  that  1 in 4 adults  aged  16-75  live  with
     chronic  pain:  “an  often  hidden
 and  misunderstood  condition.”
                                https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-61309962

30,975  people  in  TH  have  back-pain,
               approximately  11%  of  population.
